Black and Blue Quarter Horses is devoted to producing beautifully colored, gentle, working-type western cow horses. The ranch is located on approximately 400 acres of superb Baldwin County soil, way out west (of Foley, Alabama, that is).

Our ranch-bred quarter horses carry the bloodlines of great foundation cow horses, such as Joe Hancock, Buck Hancock, Happy Hancock, Eddie, Eddie 40, Eddie Eighty, King Fritz, Blue Valentine, King P-234, Poco Bueno, Leo, Colonel Freckles, Pat Star Jr., Doc Bar, Docs Budha, Drifts Chip, Figure Four Fritz, Snickelfritz Flake, Blue Apache Warrior, and PG Shogun.

Some of our quarter horse broodmares are also descended from running blood, from such great sires as Three Bars, Silky Fox, Go Man Go, Little Request, Rapid Bar, Dash for Cash, On a High, Top Deck, Easy Jet, and Windy Ryon.

We typically run about eighty head of the best ranch bred stock horses that can be produced. We try to breed for blue roan and black colors along with the qualities listed above. Less than one percent of the quarter horse breed are true blue roans. We do better than most breeders in getting that beautiful blue coat.

Our black and blue quarter horses are bred for all kinds of ranch work, as well as roping events, steer wrestling, cutting, team penning and general western pleasure. Due to their gentle nature, many of these quarter horses are also well-suited for mounted Police departments.  They are also great for the young horse lover in your family, whether it be son, daughter, granddaughter or grandson.
